Allemagne : Merz clame la fin de trois ans de récession – « Nous grandissons à nouveau ! »

Coup de tonnerre positif en Allemagne. Le chancelier Friedrich Merz a déclaré, mercredi 26 août 2026, que la première économie européenne est sortie de la récession qui la minait depuis plusieurs années. « Trois années de récession sont derrière nous, et nous sommes de nouveau en croissance », a-t-il lâché avec force à l’issue d’une réunion à huis clos de deux jours du gouvernement fédéral au château de Neuhardenberg.

« Nous devons sortir de cette atmosphère de mécontentement et de morosité. Ensemble, nous devons surmonter ce mécontentement généralisé qui règne depuis longtemps dans notre pays », a insisté le chancelier. La réunion à huis clos a surtout porté sur les tâches à venir dans les prochaines semaines et mois. Les thèmes centraux ? L’innovation et la compétitivité. Merz a particulièrement mis en avant l’introduction de l’intelligence artificielle dans l’industrie, l’artisanat, les PME, la défense et la médecine. « L’Allemagne a d’énormes opportunités dans ce domaine », a-t-il souligné.

Ces dernières années, l’Allemagne a traversé une crise économique prolongée. D’abord déclenchée par la pandémie de Covid-19, elle s’est aggravée avec l’arrêt des livraisons de gaz russe, puis le conflit autour de l’Iran et les flambées des prix de l’énergie. Aujourd’hui, le message de Merz est clair : place à la reprise et à un nouvel optimisme.

Pour l’Afrique et le Cameroun, qui entretiennent des liens économiques et migratoires importants avec l’Allemagne, cette annonce compte. Une Allemagne plus forte, c’est des opportunités d’exportations, d’investissements et de partenariats technologiques qui peuvent rebondir. Merz appelle son pays à secouer la morosité. Reste à voir si les Allemands suivront le mouvement. Mais pour l’instant, le chancelier a frappé fort : la locomotive européenne redémarre.

Merz particularly highlighted the introduction of artificial intelligence in industry, crafts, SMEs, defence and medicine. “Germany has enormous opportunities in this area,” he said.

In recent years, Germany has endured a prolonged economic crisis. Initially caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, it worsened after the halt in Russian gas supplies and the conflict involving Iran, which drove up energy prices. Today, Merz’s message is clear: recovery and a new optimism are the order of the day.

For Africa and Cameroon, which maintain significant economic and migration ties with Germany, this announcement matters. A stronger Germany means renewed opportunities for exports, investment and technological partnerships. Merz is calling on his country to shake off the gloom. Whether Germans will follow remains to be seen. For now, the Chancellor has struck a powerful note: Europe’s economic engine is restarting.
