La mission de vérification générale, conduite par la Direction générale des Grandes Entreprises (DGE) entre janvier et juin 2025, a débouché sur un redressement initial de 1,4 milliard FCFA.
Grâce au plaidoyer de la direction de la Campost, le montant a été significativement révisé pour s’établir à 250 millions FCFA de principal, assortis de 56,25 millions FCFA de pénalités.
Si les détails du redressement n’ont pas été rendus publics, les spécialistes rappellent que ce type de procédure intervient souvent en cas d’erreurs déclaratives, d’omissions, d’incohérences comptables ou encore de déficits répétés jugés suspects.
Une entreprise sous pression mais en pleine reprise
Paradoxalement, ce contrôle fiscal intervient dans une phase où la Campost montre des signes solides de reprise. Selon les données du Premier ministre, l’entreprise affiche pour 2024 un chiffre d’affaires de 4,439 milliards FCFA, en hausse de 30 % par rapport à 2023.
Un signal fort, qui confirme le redressement progressif de l’opérateur public, longtemps fragilisé par des difficultés structurelles.
Campost mise sur la monétique pour 2026
Dans sa stratégie de modernisation, la Campost prépare le lancement, en 2026, d’un réseau de monétique avec 20 guichets automatiques bancaires (GAB) répartis dans les dix régions du Cameroun.
Cette initiative, qui s’appuie sur son maillage territorial unique, devrait renforcer l’inclusion financière et repositionner l’entreprise comme un acteur clé des services financiers et numériques.
Un modèle intégré pour rester dans la course
La Campost reste un acteur unique dans le paysage national, cumulant les métiers :
- services postaux (courrier, colis, express),
- services financiers (banque, assurance),
- services numériques (visioconférence, hébergement, vidéosurveillance),
- solutions logistiques et e-commerce.
Un positionnement hybride qui pourrait lui permettre de tirer profit de la transformation numérique accélérée du pays.

The public postal operator underwent a tax adjustment following an audit covering fiscal years 2018 to 2020. Initially set at 1.4 billion CFA francs, the amount was ultimately reduced to 306.25 million CFA francs after negotiations with the tax administration.
The information was disclosed as the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications presented her 2026 budget of 29 billion CFA francs before the National Assembly, outlining both the structural challenges and ongoing reforms within the sector.
A heavy tax adjustment… reduced by over one billion
The audit, conducted by the Large Taxpayers Directorate (DGE) from January to June 2025, concluded with an initial tax assessment of 1.4 billion CFA francs.
Following appeals from Campost’s management, the amount was revised downward to 250 million in principal and 56.25 million in penalties.
The specific reasons behind the adjustment were not disclosed, though such audits generally arise from discrepancies between tax declarations and accounting, omissions, repeated deficits, or inconsistencies deemed significant.
Growth despite fiscal scrutiny
Interestingly, this fiscal pressure comes at a time when Campost is showing strong signs of recovery. According to data shared by the Prime Minister, the operator achieved a turnover of 4.439 billion CFA francs in 2024, marking a remarkable 30% growth compared to 2023.
Monetary network expansion planned for 2026
As part of its modernization strategy, Campost plans to launch a network of 20 ATMs across Cameroon’s ten regions by 2026.
This move aims to bolster financial inclusion and reposition the company within the growing digital and financial services market.
