Au terme d’un scrutin très attendu, c’est finalement Jean Lambert Nang qui a été porté à la tête de l’exécutif municipal. Journaliste sportif à la retraite, ancien Directeur général de la Fédération camerounaise de football (Fecafoot), l’homme n’est pas un inconnu du grand public. Sa reconversion dans la gestion communale marque une étape inédite dans un parcours déjà riche.



Jean Lambert Nang succède à feu Salomon Mbout Abalang, décédé en septembre 2025 des suites de maladie, laissant un vide au sein de l’équipe municipale. Le nouveau maire aura la responsabilité d’achever le mandat issu des élections municipales de 2020, avant les prochaines échéances prévues pour l’année prochaine.



Dans cette commune placée sous le contrôle politique du RDPC, l'arrivée de Nang apparaît comme un choix stratégique, mêlant expérience, notoriété et loyauté au parti. Une nouvelle dynamique est désormais attendue, alors que Minta se prépare à aborder l’ultime année de ce cycle municipal.



Avec cette élection, la Haute-Sanaga confirme une fois encore son attachement à la stabilité institutionnelle et à la continuité du leadership local.



 

Minta: Jean Lambert Nang Elected Mayor in a Special Session Convened by the Senior Divisional Officer

The municipality of Minta has entered a new chapter. Under the instruction of the Senior Divisional Officer of Haute-Sanaga, the municipal council held a special session this Thursday, December 4, 2025, with a single item on the agenda: the election of a new mayor.



Following a closely watched vote, Jean Lambert Nang emerged as the newly elected mayor. A retired sports journalist and former Director General of the Cameroon Football Federation (Fecafoot), Nang is a well-known public figure whose transition into municipal leadership marks a notable evolution in his career.



He succeeds Salomon Mbout Abalang, who passed away in September 2025 after a long illness. Jean Lambert Nang will complete the ongoing term that began after the 2020 municipal elections, ahead of the next polls scheduled for next year.



In this municipality politically dominated by the CPDM, Nang’s election is seen as a strategic choice, blending experience, public recognition, and party loyalty. Expectations are now high as Minta prepares for the final year of its current municipal cycle.



With this election, Haute-Sanaga reaffirms its commitment to institutional stability and continuity in local governance.
