Ce n'est qu'après cette validation populaire que la prochaine élection présidentielle sera organisée.

"Ma candidature [au poste du président] doit être exigée par le peuple, s'il estime que je fais bien mon travail. Sinon, personne ne me forcera à le faire. Je partirai si la population estime que je ne suis pas à la hauteur de mes fonctions." Une déclaration qui, sans être une annonce formelle, laisse peu de doute sur ses velléités.
La machine électorale déjà en marche
Alors que la transition débute à peine, l'échiquier politique s'agite. Les partis ont déjà entamé leur campagne de préparation en vue des futurs scrutins. De son côté, la Commission électorale nationale indépendante (Ceni), dirigée par Arsène Dama, a un plan bien précis : réviser le code électoral et établir de nouvelles listes électorales entre le 1er décembre 2025 et le 15 mai 2026.
Ce calendrier de près de deux ans, s'il se déroule sans accroc, pourrait offrir à Madagascar une sortie de crise institutionnelle durable. When questioned about his future intentions, he adopted a posture both modest and strategic. "My candidacy [for the presidency] must be demanded by the people, if they believe I am doing my job well. Otherwise, no one will force me to do it. I will leave if the population feels I am not up to the task." A statement that, while not a formal announcement, leaves little doubt about his aspirations.
The Electoral Machine Already in Motion
While the transition is just beginning, the political landscape is stirring. Parties have already started their preparatory campaigns for the upcoming polls. Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI), led by Arsène Dama, has a precise plan: to revise the electoral code and establish new voter lists between December 1, 2025, and May 15, 2026.
This nearly two-year timetable, if executed smoothly, could offer Madagascar a lasting way out of its institutional crisis.
