Une bataille qui promet d’être explosive

The race for the Golden Boot at the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations is heating up.
After the group stage, Barbra Banda sits alone at the top of the scoring charts with five goals in three matches.
The Zambia captain, however, will not be able to add to her tally after the Copper Queens were eliminated in the group stage.
That leaves the door open for her closest challengers.
Three players are currently on three goals, including Cameroon forward Marie Gisèle Ngah Manga, who remains firmly in the race for the Golden Boot.
Banda makes a flying start
Barbra Banda immediately showed why she is regarded as one of Africa’s most dangerous attacking players.
The Zambia captain scored a remarkable four goals against Egypt in her opening match before finding the net again against Malawi.
Her five-goal tally puts her at the summit of the scoring charts.
But with Zambia out of the tournament, Banda’s total is now frozen.
Her rivals still have matches ahead of them.
Ngah Manga leads Cameroon’s charge
Marie Gisèle Ngah Manga is currently just two goals behind Banda.

Zambia’s elimination has changed the equation.
Banda remains the leading scorer with five goals, but she can no longer increase her tally.

For Cameroon, much will depend on whether Ngah Manga can maintain her scoring form.
