Népal : Un bus de mariage chute dans un ravin

La joie d’un cortège nuptial a viré au cauchemar dans l’ouest du Népal. Un bus transportant des invités a dévalé dans un ravin, faisant au moins 13 morts, dont des enfants, et une quarantaine de blessés. Selon The Kathmandu Post, huit personnes sont décédées sur le coup et cinq autres à l’hôpital, où plusieurs restent en état critique. La police évoque une défaillance mécanique – l’éclatement d’un tuyau de frein à air – sur le véhicule surchargé. Les jeunes mariés, qui voyageaient dans une autre voiture, sont sains et saufs.

La capitale pakistanaise, Islamabad, a été secouée par une violente explosion survenue près d’une mosquée à l’heure de la prière du vendredi. Le bilan, encore provisoire, est lourd : au moins 31 personnes ont été tuées et 169 blessées, selon Dawn. Plusieurs hôpitaux ont déclaré l’état d’urgence. Police suspect a burst air brake pipe caused the accident as the overloaded bus climbed a hill, causing it to roll back approximately 200 meters. The newlyweds, traveling separately, were unharmed.

Pakistan: Blast Near Mosque
An explosion near a mosque in Pakistan's capital, Islamabad, during Friday prayers killed at least 31 people and wounded 169, according to Dawn newspaper. Several city hospitals declared emergencies. Television channel Geo News reported the blast was a suicide bombing triggered when the attacker was stopped at the mosque entrance. The wounded were taken to hospitals in Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
