Un succès qui permet au club casablancais de conforter sa place de leader et de prendre une option importante avant la phase retour. Dans le même groupe, l’Azam FC s’est relancé en allant chercher une victoire précieuse sur le terrain du Nairobi United (1-2). Les Tanzaniens montrent ainsi qu’ils restent des candidats sérieux à la qualification.

Les clubs nord-africains ont une nouvelle fois imposé leur rythme lors de cette journée. En Algérie, le CR Belouizdad a fait respecter la hiérarchie en dominant les Sud-Africains de Stellenbosch FC (2-0), confirmant son statut de prétendant solide. De leur côté, les Marocains de l’Olympique Club de Safi ont réalisé une performance précieuse en Côte d’Ivoire en s’imposant face au FC San Pedro (1-2). Dans le Groupe C, le duel en Tanzanie a tourné à l’avantage des Singida Black Stars, vainqueurs 1-0 contre l’AS Otôho d’Oyo. Grâce à un but d’Elvis Rupia, les Tanzaniens s’emparent de la deuxième place de leur groupe, et se relancent dans la course aux quarts de finale.

Le Groupe D a offert un choc 100% égyptien entre le Zamalek et Al Masry, soldé par un score vierge (0-0). Un résultat qui maintient Al Masry en tête de la poule avec 7 points, et qui laisse le Zamalek dans une position délicate avant la phase retour.

Enfin, les Kaizer Chiefs ont réalisé l’une des bonnes opérations de la journée en s’imposant à l’extérieur (0-1) sur la pelouse de Zesco United en Zambie. Cette victoire permet aux Sud-Africains de rester au contact des leaders égyptiens et de croire plus que jamais à une qualification pour les quarts de finale.

CAF Confederation Cup: Sunday results — Wydad, Belouizdad and Kaizer Chiefs strengthen their ambitions

The CAF Confederation Cup delivered its verdict on Sunday, January 25, 2026, during the third matchday of the group stage. This Sunday’s fixtures confirmed a clear trend: North African clubs largely dominated the action, while sub-Saharan teams delivered strong away performances, keeping the competition open and unpredictable.

In Group B, Wydad AC secured a perfect points haul with a narrow 1–0 win over Maniema Union at home. The victory strengthens the Casablanca side’s position at the top of the group and gives them a significant advantage ahead of the return fixtures. In the same group, Azam FC bounced back with a crucial 2–1 win at Nairobi United, proving they remain serious contenders for qualification.

North African clubs once again set the pace on Sunday. In Algeria, CR Belouizdad asserted their dominance with a 2–0 win over South Africa’s Stellenbosch FC, confirming their status as strong contenders. Meanwhile, Morocco’s Olympique Club de Safi secured an important away victory in Ivory Coast, defeating FC San Pedro 2–1, positioning themselves well before the return legs.

In Group C, the Tanzanian clash saw Singida Black Stars claim a 1–0 win over AS Otôho d’Oyo. Thanks to a goal from Elvis Rupia, the Tanzanian side moved into second place in the group, reigniting their hopes of reaching the quarter-finals.

Group D offered an all-Egyptian showdown between Zamalek and Al Masry, ending in a goalless draw (0–0). The result keeps Al Masry at the top of the group with 7 points, while Zamalek faces pressure ahead of the return fixtures.

Finally, Kaizer Chiefs produced one of the day’s biggest results with a 1–0 away win over Zesco United in Zambia. The victory keeps the South African club in touch with the Egyptian leaders and strengthens their belief in reaching the quarter-finals.
