There was no winner in the East African derby between Uganda and Tanzania, played on Saturday during Matchday 2 of Group C at AFCON 2025. After a fiercely contested encounter, the two sides settled for a 1–1 draw, a result that keeps both teams’ hopes alive in the tournament.

Having both been defeated in their opening group matches, Uganda and Tanzania approached this decisive fixture with caution.
