SDF in Crisis: 300 Members and G27++ Defect to UNDP in Bamenda
Bamenda is buzzing! The SDF ship is sinking fast. This Friday, a massive wave of defection hit the historic party, with at least 300 militants and key figures, including influential members of the G27++, turning their backs on the "Great SDF" to join the UNDP. A press conference is underway in Bamenda to seal this major blow, which adds to the party’s woes since the death of its iconic leader, Ni John Fru Ndi.
The bleeding won’t stop! After hundreds of defections in the West Region (split between UNDP and MRC), Bamenda—the SDF’s traditional stronghold—is now crumbling. A disastrous omen for Joshua Osih, the party’s presidential candidate. Between internal divisions and the flight of top brass, the SDF looks more like a collapsing giant.
