The city of Bafoussam came alive this Sunday as Panthère Sportive du Ndé edged past Yong Sport Academy of Bamenda with a narrow 1-0 win in Matchday 20 of the MTN Elite One championship.
? Tactical Battle Ends in Victory for Panthère
In a tense and tactical first half, both teams struggled to create clear-cut chances. The best opportunity came in the 40th minute, when Steve Patrick Akongo of Panthère had a chance to break the deadlock, but his effort did little to trouble YOSA goalkeeper Tony Joachim Ngani Kameni. The first half ended goalless.
After the break, it was a battle of extremes—YOSA, sitting bottom of the table, versus a high-flying Panthère team in the top five. The breakthrough came in the 52nd minute, when Panthère was awarded a penalty. Théo Matthew William Junior made no mistake from the spot, giving his team the lead (0-1).
? YOSA Fights Back but Falls Short
Desperate to equalize, YOSA pushed forward but couldn’t find a way past a well-organized Panthère backline. As minutes passed, the frustration grew, and spectators at Bamendzi began to trickle out of the stadium.

"I’m not satisfied with how we played, even if we got the three points."
Meanwhile, YOSA’s head coach Alexandre Belinga couldn’t hide his anger after another home loss:
