Un succès à l’extérieur qui rapproche les Parisiens d’une nouvelle finale européenne.



Dès la 4e minute, le feu-follet Ousmane Dembélé ouvre le score grâce à une passe lumineuse du Géorgien Kvaratskhelia. Un but rapide qui a refroidi les espoirs londoniens et donné le ton d’une première période bien maîtrisée par les hommes de Luis Enrique.



Les Gunners ont cru égaliser peu après la pause, mais leur but à la 50e minute a été logiquement annulé pour hors-jeu après consultation de la VAR. Un tournant dans le match qui a fait basculer l’ambiance du stade.



Le PSG perdra ensuite son unique buteur du soir. Touché physiquement, Dembélé sort sur blessure à la 70e minute, remplacé par Bradley Barcola. Son état de santé reste incertain à une semaine du match retour, un coup dur potentiel pour Paris.



Malgré une nette réaction d’Arsenal en seconde mi-temps, Donnarumma, impérial dans ses cages, a écœuré les attaquants londoniens avec 5 arrêts décisifs, dont 2 à bout portant. Avec 53 % de possession, 11 tirs (4 cadrés), le PSG a alterné maîtrise et résistance pour conserver son avantage.



Le match retour est prévu le mercredi 7 mai 2025 à 20h00 au Parc des Princes, dans un stade qui s’annonce en ébullition. Un simple nul suffirait aux Parisiens pour valider leur ticket pour la grande finale. Mais face à une formation d’Arsenal toujours dangereuse, la prudence reste de mise.

 

Champions League: PSG Take a Big Step Toward the Final with 1-0 Win at Arsenal

Paris Saint-Germain made a strong statement on Tuesday night by defeating Arsenal 1-0 at the Emirates Stadium in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League semi-finals. A valuable away win that puts the French side in a strong position ahead of the return leg.



It took just four minutes for PSG to break the deadlock. Ousmane Dembélé found the back of the net with a composed finish after a brilliant assist from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, silencing the London crowd early.



Arsenal thought they had drawn level shortly after halftime, but their goal in the 50th minute was ruled out by VAR for offside, much to the frustration of Mikel Arteta’s side.



PSG’s evening took a hit later on when their match-winner Dembélé was forced off injured in the 70th minute, replaced by Bradley Barcola. His availability for the second leg remains uncertain.



The Parisians controlled the first half and showed resilience in the second, finishing the match with 53% possession, 11 shots (4 on target). But credit also goes to Italian goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, who kept a clean sheet with five decisive saves, including two from point-blank range.



The second leg is scheduled for Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at 8:00 PM at the Parc des Princes in Paris. With a one-goal lead in hand, PSG are just 90 minutes away from reaching the Champions League final — but Arsenal, who remain dangerous, won’t go down without a fight.
