Sandor Csanyi retire son soutien à Gianni Infantino
Le coup est important. Sandor Csanyi, vice-président de la FIFA et figure influente du football européen, aurait décidé de retirer son soutien à Gianni Infantino.
Le dirigeant hongrois, qui faisait auparavant partie des soutiens du président de la FIFA, aurait changé de position. Le soutien de la CAF à Infantino moins unanime que prévu ?

Souleiman Waberi, président de la Fédération djiboutienne ;
Idriss Diallo, président de la Fédération ivoirienne de football.
Les autres responsables des fédérations africaines n’auraient pas publiquement pris position.

Gianni Infantino aurait participé à un projet de Coupe du monde U15 totalement repensée.
L’ambition était gigantesque : réunir les équipes des 211 associations membres de la FIFA dans un événement présenté comme un immense festival mondial du football des jeunes.
Le concept s’inspirait notamment des Little League World Series, une compétition internationale de baseball et de softball destinée aux jeunes.
Selon The Athletic, le projet aurait été développé avec Carlos Rodriguez, ancien dirigeant de premier plan de la Fédération mexicaine de football.
La société américaine Eldridge Industries, dirigée par Todd Boehly, copropriétaire de Chelsea, aurait également soutenu l’initiative.
ESPN et Disney dans le projet
Le projet ne semblait pas être une simple idée sur papier.
Des discussions auraient notamment été engagées avec ESPN autour des droits de diffusion.
La compétition aurait pu se dérouler au ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, situé près de Disney World, à Orlando, en Floride.
Le projet envisageait également d’organiser les cérémonies d’ouverture et de clôture à Disney World.
L’objectif était clair : créer un événement planétaire mêlant football, télévision, divertissement et sponsors.
Un concept commercial d’une ampleur rarement envisagée pour une compétition U15.
Israël-Palestine : le match d’ouverture qui n’a finalement pas vu le jour
L’un des aspects les plus symboliques du projet concernait le match d’ouverture.
Selon The Athletic, Gianni Infantino aurait souhaité organiser une rencontre inaugurale entre Israël et la Palestine.
L’idée était de faire du football un instrument symbolique de rapprochement entre les deux camps.
Mais le projet aurait finalement été abandonné.
Les précédentes tentatives de rapprochement sportif entre les deux parties n’ayant pas abouti, cette initiative particulièrement sensible n’aurait pas été retenue.

ESPN and Disney were reportedly involved in discussions
The project reportedly went beyond an initial concept.
Discussions were said to have taken place with ESPN regarding possible broadcasting rights.
The event could have been staged at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, located near Disney World in Orlando, Florida.
Opening and closing ceremonies were also reportedly planned for Disney World.
The ambition was enormous: combine youth football, television, entertainment and major commercial sponsorship in a single global event.
The proposed Israel-Palestine opening match
One of the most symbolic elements of the project concerned the proposed opening match.
According to The Athletic, Gianni Infantino wanted Israel and Palestine to face each other in the opening game.
The idea was reportedly intended to use football as a symbolic instrument of reconciliation.
However, the proposal was eventually abandoned.
Previous attempts to promote sporting reconciliation between the two sides had failed, making the project particularly sensitive.
Ultimately, the U15 World Cup concept did not move forward.
