Ils l’avaient prévenu, ils l’ont fait. Sur la page officielle du club, on peut désormais lire « Le Mur ! » en hommage à André Onana. Une une accolade méritée pour le gardien international camerounais, véritable sauveur de son équipe face à une formation de Gaziantep pourtant dominateure.
Un scénario renversant mais maitrisé
Pourtant, tout avait mal commencé pour Trabzonspor. Après seulement 22 minutes de jeu, Mohamed Bayo trompait déjà la vigilance de la défense visiteuse, ouvrant le score pour Gaziantep. Mais c’était sans compter sur la réactivité des attaquants de Trabzonspor qui, en l’espace de cinq minutes, renversaient la vapeur grâce à Felipe Augusto (24e) et Paul Onuachu (27e).
Derrière, ce fut un véritable chemin de croix pour les coéquipiers d’Onana. Avec 53% de possession de balle et 16 tirs (dont 9 cadrés) contre seulement 9 tirs pour Trabzonspor, Gaziantep a poussé, mais s’est heurté à un roc.
Onana, le patron dans les cages
Le gardien camerounais a sorti le grand jeu. Avec pas moins de 6 arrêts décisifs, il a maintenu son équipe dans le match et préservé ce précieux succès. Une prestation de très haute volée qui lui a valu, logiquement, le titre d’homme du match et la meilleure note de la rencontre.
Grâce à cette victoire acquise dans la douleur, Trabzonspor consolide sa troisième place au classement avec 48 points, confortant son avance sur ses poursuivants. Derrière, la course au titre fait rage entre Galatasaray (1er, 55 points) et Fenerbahçe (2e, 52 points).

André Onana, the "Wall": Trabzonspor Edges Gaziantep Thanks to a Monster Goalkeeping Performance
Trabzonspor secured a crucial away victory against Gaziantep (2-1) this Sunday in the Turkish Süper Lig. While the team claimed all three points, the credit largely goes to Cameroonian goalkeeper André Onana, who delivered a colossal performance.
Trabzonspor's official social media hailed him as "The Wall!", a fitting tribute after he single-handedly kept his team in the game against a dominant Gaziantep side.
The match started poorly for the visitors, with Mohamed Bayo scoring for Gaziantep in the 22nd minute. However, Trabzonspor responded swiftly, with Felipe Augusto (24') and Paul Onuachu (27') turning the game around in just three minutes.
From then on, it was the André Onana show. Gaziantep controlled the game with 53% possession and fired 16 shots (9 on target) compared to Trabzonspor's 9. However, the Cameroonian shot-stopper was unbeatable, making 6 decisive saves to secure the narrow lead.
Logically named Man of the Match, Onana's performance earned him the highest rating and cemented Trabzonspor's hold on 3rd place with 48 points. In the standings, Galatasaray leads with 55 points, followed by Fenerbahçe with 52.
