À domicile, le Kenya confirme son statut de favori dans le groupe A en terminant cette phase invaincu et solidement installé en tête avec 7 points, devant l’Angola (4 pts). La RDC et le Maroc se tiennent au coude-à-coude (3 pts chacun), tandis que la Zambie, lanterne rouge, repart bredouille.



Dans le groupe B, la Tanzanie écrase tout sur son passage : trois victoires en trois matchs, 9 points au compteur et un billet pour la suite déjà validé. La Mauritanie suit de loin avec 4 points, le Burkina Faso reste en embuscade (3 pts), alors que Madagascar (1 pt) et la Centrafrique (0 pt) ferment la marche.



Le groupe C voit l’Ouganda, co-organisateur, dominer avec 6 points. L’Algérie et l’Afrique du Sud sont à égalité (4 pts chacun), mais les Fennecs devancent aux points particuliers. La Guinée (3 pts) garde encore un mince espoir, le Niger est déjà éliminé (0 pt).



Enfin, dans le groupe D, le Soudan prend la tête grâce à sa démonstration contre le Nigeria, devançant le Sénégal grâce à une meilleure différence de buts. Le Congo reste troisième (2 pts) et le Nigeria, sans victoire, ferme la marche (0 pt).

CHAN 2024: Tanzania Dominates, Kenya and Uganda Stay Strong After Group Stage

The third round of the CHAN 2024 group stage concluded this Tuesday with a tense draw between Senegal and Congo, and a spectacular win for Sudan over Nigeria in Group D.



Host nation Kenya remains unbeaten and leads Group A with 7 points, ahead of Angola (4 pts). DR Congo and Morocco both have 3 points, while Zambia leaves empty-handed.



In Group B, Tanzania is unstoppable — three wins in three matches, 9 points and already through to the next round. Mauritania is second with 4 points, Burkina Faso sits on 3 points, Madagascar has 1, and Central African Republic has none.



Uganda, co-host, tops Group C with 6 points, followed by Algeria and South Africa (4 pts each), with Algeria ahead on head-to-head. Guinea (3 pts) still has a slim chance, while Niger is out with zero points.



In Group D, Sudan takes the lead after their big win over Nigeria, ahead of Senegal on goal difference. Congo is third (2 pts) and Nigeria is bottom without a single point.
