Malgré une légère domination (51 % de possession, 6 tirs dont 2 cadrés), Montpellier a manqué de tranchant dans le dernier geste. De leur côté, les Audoniens ont su profiter de leurs rares opportunités pour ramener un point précieux.

Damien Durant avait ouvert le score pour le Redstar à la 11e minute avant que Becir Omeragic n'égalise pour les montpelliérain à la 38e minute.



Les deux autres Camerounais du MHSC, les gardiens Simon Ngapandouetnbu et Kevin Kamdem, sont restés sur le banc. Au classement, Montpellier pointe au 11? rang avec 1 point, juste devant le Red Star (12?). Pau FC prend provisoirement les commandes avec 3 points.



La prochaine journée s’annonce déjà comme un test de caractère pour Tchato et ses coéquipiers.

Montpellier failed to secure all three points in their Ligue 2 opener. On Saturday, August 9, 2025, at the Mosson Stadium, Enzo Tchato’s side was held to a 1-1 draw by newly promoted Red Star. The Cameroonian right-back started the match and put in a solid performance, though his team lacked the finishing touch.



Montpellier had a slight edge in possession (51%) and attempted six shots, but only two were on target. Fellow Cameroonians Simon Ngapandouetnbu and Kevin Kamdem, both goalkeepers, remained on the bench.



With this result, Montpellier sit 11th in the standings with 1 point, just ahead of Red Star (12th). Pau FC lead the table provisionally with 3 points. The next match will be a real test for Tchato and his teammates.
