« Je ne me souviens pas que les Lions de mon époque aient gagné quelque chose sans qu’il n’y ait participé. La première CAN, il était là. La deuxième aussi. Les Jeux Olympiques aussi. Il était de l’épopée de 1990. Il est de tous mes souvenirs en équipe nationale, de tous les succès. »
Un témoignage qui résume à lui seul l’importance de Kundé : 127 sélections, double champion d’Afrique (1984 et 1988), et une carrière marquée par une loyauté sans faille envers le maillot vert-rouge-jaune.
Omam-Biyik se souvient : "Un grand frère, un mentor"
François Omam-Biyik, autre légende camerounaise, a partagé ses souvenirs avec émotion :
« J’ai eu la chance de le côtoyer au Canon de Yaoundé, en équipe nationale et à Laval en France. Il faisait partie, avec Jacques Songo’o et Dang Dagobert, des joueurs qui m’ont convaincu de signer au Canon. Il m’a accueilli comme un grand frère accueille un petit frère. Il m’a mis dans de bonnes conditions. »
Kundé n’était pas seulement un défenseur redoutable, il était un leader, un exemple, un passeur de flambeau pour toute une génération.

He was one of the players, along with Jacques Songo’o and Dang Dagobert, who convinced me to sign for Canon. He welcomed me like a big brother welcomes a younger brother. He put me in the right conditions."
