Budding lawn tennis stars, Linda Eloundou and Manuela Eloundou are currently in the United States of America to undergo training on how to improve their skills in the sport. While in America, the Eloundou sisters will take part in a few tournaments for two months before moving over to France to continue training. Their trip to America and Europe is entirely sponsored by the ace tennis man and winner of the French open, Roland Garros, Yannick Noah who was impressed by the talent of the twin sisters while on a visit to Cameroon.

The plight of the Eloundou sisters calls to mind that of the defending Cameroon champion, Ngambo Catina who is also in the United States after having won a scholarship to blend sports and education. The performance of the young Cameroonian tennis women, contrast sharply with that of the federation where activities have been on a standstill. There is no championship or cup competition or other competitions to enable tennis athletes sharpen their skills. There are a few sporadic competitions organized by some benevolent lovers of the game.

The athletes are heavily sponsored by their parents and other benevolent people and the federation rushes to claim honours for work they did not do. Linda and Manuela were among the six African athletes chosen to take to benefit from a scholarship offered by the International Tennis Association after a continental tournament in Senegal. They also took tennis lessons from the Africa Excellence Centre in Casablanca-Morocco and also took part in a sports and studies programme in Lome-Togo. Their dream is to become planetary tennis stars like the Williams; Venus and Serena.
