Yaounde’s administrative centre was a go-slow area yesterday October 5, 2015 as the motorcade of the Prime Minister, Head of Government, Philemon Yang crisscrossed ministries to commission cabinet ministers following the October 2, 2015 Presidential Decrees reshuffling government.

Early yesterday, Philemon Yang had an early start as he set the ball rolling as early as 10 am with the commissioning of the new Secretary General in the Prime Minister’s Office, Séraphin Magloire Fouda, and his deputy, Pascal Nguihe Kante. This was followed by a marathon tour of 14 ministries where he recommended team spirit, frank collaboration and unquestionable loyalty to the newly appointed ministers. To their outgoing colleagues, Philemon Yang expressed thanks for services rendered the nation.

At the Ministry of Defence, Beti Assomo Joseph took over from Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o while Henri Eyebe Ayissi ceded his seat at the Supreme State Office to Rose Ngwari Mbah Acha. Cheers greeted the commissioning of Pierre Ismaël Bidoung Mkpatt at the helm of the Sports and Physical Education Ministry; likewise Edgard Alain Mebe Ngo’o’s relocation to the Ministry of Transport.

Artistes massively attended the ceremony at the Ministry of Arts and Culture to have a glimpse of their new boss, Mouelle Kombi Narcisse. Philemon Yang’s next two stops in the Ministries of Social Affairs and of Agriculture and Rural Development saw the commissioning of Nguene Pauline Irène and Henri Eyebe Ayissi, respectively.

Friends, relatives and kinsmen of Ernest Ngwaboubou massively attended his commissioning as the new Minister of Industry, Mines and Technological Development. A few hundred metres away, the Prime Minister entered the new ceremonial hall some 28 minutes after noon to commission yet another new face, Minette Libom Li Likeng, as Posts and Telecommunications boss.

Minutes later on, the Head of Government commissioned Jean Ernest Ngalle Bibehe as Minister of Secondary Education; Louis Paul Motaze who staged a comeback to the Ministry of the Economy, Planning and Regional Development; Lejeune Mbella Mbella in the Ministry of External Relations and  Mounouna Foutsou in the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Civic Education.

Philemon Yang showed no sign of fatigue when he rounded off the day with the commissioning of Emmanuel Nganou Djoumessi as new Minister of Public Works. The PM’s departure from every ministry was followed by accolades and, in most cases, refreshments amidst drumbeats from dance groups.
