Rev. Emmanuel Basam Masok, 45 and father of two, was on Sunday, September 6, 2015, commissioned as the Presbyterial Secretary of the East Mungo North Presbytery and Parish Pastor of the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon, PCC Bastos, Yaounde. The PCC Moderator, Rev. Samuel Fonki Forba, carried out the induction. In his pledge, Rev. Masok committed to discharge his duties with faith: “I promise, God being my helper,” he pledged.

The induction, which took place in the Presbyterian Church Bastos, saw the attendance of Moderators Emeritus, Rev. Festus Ambe Asana and Rev. Nyansako-ni-Nku. According to the Congregational Chairperson, Elder Joseph Forsab, “This is the first time PCC Bastos is experiencing an induction of this magnitude since 30 years.” He pledged the church’s commitment to help and support the new pastor in the discharge of his duties.

The first reading from John chapter 9 verses one to seven, 13-17 and 30-39 focused on drawing the church closer to God. Based on the theme, “Blinded to our own realities,” the former Presbyterial Secretary urged worshippers to keep their eyes of faith opened for God to show them the way to go.

From 2011 to 2014, Rev. Emmanuel Basam Masok was the Parish Pastor of Nsimeyong, Yaounde. The Chairperson of PCC Nsimeyong regretted Rev. Emmanuel Masok’s departure for PCC Bastos. “It is very certain that he will change this congregation like he changed Nsimeyong. Bastos has a jewel in its hands!” he said. The induction ceremony brought together some government dignitaries, including Senators Victor Mukete, Peter Mafany Musonge and Charles Mbella Moki. About 31 pastors from both within and outside the parish attended the event.
