The declaration was made on September 3, 2015 by the chairman of a German-based Business Association after an audience with the Minister of External Relations.

The President of a German Business Association known as “Afrika Verein”, Stefan Liebing has announced that more German industries would be investing in Cameroon. He made the statement in Yaounde on September 3, 2015 after an audience with the Minister of External Relations, Pierre Moukoko Mbonjo. He said his visit to the Minister was to follow-up Minister’s Moukoko’s recent visit to Berlin, Germany during which they discussed on a series of joint business activities and German investment projects in Cameroon.

Mr. Stefan Liebing revealed that German investors are interested in the infrastructure and energy sectors. “It was a very good exchange with the Minister of External Relations and I will continue to recommend German industries to come to Cameroon”, he asserted. Some of the German investment projects such as the 1 billion dollar fertilizer plant in Limbe, South West region is ongoing. The German business executive stated that negotiations are on-going with remarkable progress already made. Afrika Verein was founded in 1934 and has approximately 600 members in 2014. The foreign trade association enhances economic relations between Germany and African countries.
