Yaounde was the fashion capital of Cameroon over the weekend as lovers of mode gathered at the Hilton Hotel on Saturday, November 7, 2015 to enjoy the catwalk of top-models that were out to exhibit the fashion trends of three designers from the African continent. The event was the K-Walk Fashion Week 2015 organised by Cameroon-born designer, Anna Ngann Yonn, who is the owner of the brand name, “Kreyann.” One of the classic and special guests at the fashion show was Cameroon’s First Lady, Mrs Chantal Biya, UNESCO’s Goodwill Ambassador for Education and Social Inclusion.

In chic white attire, Mrs Biya entered the showroom, decorated in black and red at about 8:30 p.m. for the parade to begin. At this point, all the fashion-conscious guests had their eyes focused on the runway on which models, provided by the brand name, Guerlain, had to walk across. A tempo from the land of Nelson Mandela, commenced the fashion show with the South Africa designer, David Tlale.

Renowned for his undeniable knack for showmanship and elaborate designs of male and female clothing, Tlale impenitently employs unpredictable use and understanding of fabric, colour and texture in an amazing exposition of male black coloured suits as well as female outfits. Interesting to note was his display of wedding dresses as well as his cultural intimacy of the African fabric in short and long female shirts as well as trousers.

Next in line was Côte d’Ivoire’s designer, Ciss Saint Moise who also showcased his upcoming line of clothing for the seasons ahead. Male models catwalked the runway in traditional African attires mostly put on by men in West Africa. Fascinating too, was the manner in which Ciss Saint Moise embroidered male suits with gold thread at strategic areas. Without doubt, Anna Ngann Yonn put final touches to the parade with her brand “Kreyann”.

While mixing elegance and new trends with originality, Anna Ngann showcased her latest collections full of colours and tones that are wearable by every woman at anytime not just by particular elite at special functions. Upcoming wears for Kreyann brand include simple as well as sophisticated dresses of bright and sober colours with accessories that classically reveal the brand name. Snap shots and words of appreciation from guests marked the end of K-Walk 2015 fashion show.
