The Minister of Posts and Telecommunications, Minette Libom Li Likeng, ended her tour of agencies under her tutelage with a visit to the head office of the Telecommunications Regulatory Board, TRB, at the Nouvelle Road Bastos neighbourhood of Yaounde. Minister Libom Li Likeng and her delegation were on December 18, 2015, welcomed upon arrival by a cheerful staff led by the General Manager of TRB, Jean Louis Beh Mengue. They held an incamera working session before open discussions.

The Minister told the management of TRB that subscribers often make calls with 3G technology without feedback. The issue, she said, was worrisome, with complaints flooding in everyday. It was therefore time for all agencies under her oversight to put heads together for a lasting solution to the quality of mobile telephone services, she said. She added that the 4G technology was coming at a time the 3G was not yet offering superb services.

In this wise, the National Agency for Information and Telecommunication (ANTIC), the Cameroon Telecommunication Company (CAMTEL), the Cameroon Postal Service (CAMPOST) and the Telecommunications Regulatory Board, as well as others under the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications, were now expected to work in synergy to improve delivery. She urged TRB staff to be innovative and be ready to propose lasting solutions to the poor phone services in Cameroon.

The General Manager of TRB and some of his staff accompanied the Minister and her delegation to the Yaounde City Council area where she visited some offices before driving down to the building hosting offices for the Centre, South and East Delegations.  Libom Li Likeng took stock of the control and monitoring equipment for radio and telephone frequencies. The Minister in a press statement at the end of the week-long tour of institutions under her oversight reiterated her concern for teamwork, professionalism and better services.
